  • Late night arrival at the Delhi International Airport.
  • Transfer to the hotel on your own. (Transfers can be arranged at additional cost.)
  • Check into the hotel and time to acclimate.
  • Dinner on own.

Overnight: Delhi

Day Three: Friday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • LaDa'at Focus Orientation with your tour educator.
  • Visit Jama Masjid, Delhi's principal mosque built in 1628.
  • Embark on a rickshaw ride through the alleys of Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets of Old Delhi (formerly called Shahjehanbad).
  • LaDa'at Focus Mahatma Gandhi and the Jews with your tour educator.
  • Pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the Raj Ghat.
  • From Old Delhi proceed to Central Delhi, and drive past the British Imperial monuments and buildings, including India Gate, Rashtrapathi Bhawan (President's Palace) and the Government buildings.
  • Lunch en route.
  • Visit the Qutab Minar, the city's highest brick tower.
  • Visit the Dilli Haat bazaar, where craftsmen from all corners of India sell their wares. The market offers the ambience of a traditional rural Haat (village market), while adapted for more contemporary needs. The bazaar is a treasure house of Indian culture, handicrafts and ethnic cuisine.
  • Return to the hotel.
  • LaDa'at Focus The Heritage and Legacy of the Jews of India with your tour educator.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat services and introduction to Delhi's Jewish community at the Judah Hyam Synagogue.
  • Shabbat dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Delhi

Day Four: Saturday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Board your bus and depart for Agra
  • LaDa'at Focus Attitudes Towards Minorities in India with your tour educator.
  • Upon arrival in Agra check into the hotel, followed by lunch.
  • Afternoon visit to the Agra Fort built by Mughal emperors, as well as to the Tomb of Itmad Ud Daulah.
  • Feel like a royal as you take a tonga ride in the city. The tonga is similar to a horse-drawn carriage decorated with colorful flowers and cloth.
  • Free time in the market.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Agra

Day Five: Sunday

  • Depart the hotel in the early morning for a view of the Taj Mahal in the morning light.
  • Return to the hotel for breakfast.
  • Check out of the hotel and depart for Jaipur, stopping en route in the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri.
  • Lunch en route.
  • Arrive in Jaipur and check into the hotel.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Jaipur

Day Six: Monday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • LaDa'at Focus Hinduism & Judaisam - A Match or a Mismatch? Dialogue with your tour educator.
  • The tour of Jaipur begins with a visit to the Amer Fort, reaching it either by riding on the back of an elephant (subject to availability) or by jeep.
  • Drive back to the city, stopping briefly at Hawa Mahal.
  • Visit the Birla Temple, a beautiful Hindu Temple.
  • Lunch.
  • Visit Jantar Mantar and the City Palace complex.
  • Up close and personal encounter with elephants - participate in elephant bathing and feeding and take a ride on an elephant.
  • Return to the hotel OR free time for shopping in the commercial area.
  • In the evening, depart for dinner at the house of a prominent local family.

Overnight: Jaipur

Day Seven: Tuesday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check out of the hotel and depart for Chittorgarh.
  • LaDa'at Focus India & Israel - From Alienation to Friendship with your tour educator.
  • Lunch at a restaurant.
  • Visit the Chittorgarh Fort, one of the largest and grandest forts in India.
  • Continue to Udaipur.
  • Upon arrival in Udaipur check into the hotel with free time to relax or visit the Udaipur Bazaar.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Udaipur

Day Eight: Wednesday

  • Early morning yoga session.
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • City tour of Udaipur, including the City Palace complex, Crystal Gallery and Bharatiya Lok Kala Museum.
  • Lunch
  • Experience the local means of transport with a Tuk Tuk ride in the city.
  • Free time in the markets and city center.
  • Embark on a boat cruise on Lake Pichola and view the City Palace and imposing Ghats along the lake front.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Udaipur

Day Nine: Thursday

  • Early check out from the hotel.
  • Depart for the Udaipur Airport and check in for the flight to Cochin (via Mumbai).
  • Meet and assistance upon arrival at the Cochin Airport and stop for lunch at an airport hotel.
  • Transfer to the hotel for check-in.
  • LaDa'at Focus Who are the Jews of Cochin? Dialogue with your tour educator.
  • Free time to relax.
  • Attend a performance of the classical dance form “Kathakali” in a local theater.
  • LaDa'at Focus What Makes India the World's Spiritual Center: Dialogue with a scholar over dinner.

Overnight: Cochin

Day Ten: Friday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Enjoy a bike ride in the city.
  • Visit a local vegetable and fish market; choose fresh produce to be used in a cooking workshop which includes preparation of lunch in typical Kerala-style.
  • LaDa'at Focus The Songs of Jewish Women in Kerala with your tour educator.
  • Take a walking tour of Fort Cochin, visiting the Jews Street and synagogue, and St. Francis Church.
  • Attend Kabbalat Shabbat services at the synagogue.
  • Shabbat dinner at the hotel.

Overnight:  Cochin

Day Eleven: Saturday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Shabbat services at a synagogue (special opening) inside the Cochin market.
  • Visit the Dutch Palace and board a houseboat for a cruise on the backwaters. Cruise through narrow canals, see people engaged in the activities of their daily lives, and enjoy the backwater landscapes and countryside.
  • Lunch on the boat.
  • Return to the hotel.
  • Participate in a hands-on workshop about traditional Indian clothing.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Cochin

Day Twelve: Sunday

  • Early breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Excursion to Cranganore, the trading port where Jews originally landed.
  • Stop at Chennamangalam to see the restored synagogue of the Malabar Jews.
  • Drive towards the Cochin Airport, stopping for lunch at a hotel near the airport and then check in for the flight to Mumbai.
  • Depart Cochin for Mumbai.
  • LaDa'at Focus The Mumbai Jewish Legacy with your tour educator.
  • Meet and assistance at the Mumbai Airport upon arrival and then transfer to the hotel for check-in.
  • Dinner with members of the local Jewish community.

Overnight: Mumbai

Day Thirteen: Monday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Set out for a walking tour of the Fort area and a visit to the Kala Ghoda and its vicinity, starting with the Gateway of India, Flora Fountain, Bombay University, Oval Maidan, High Court and the Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant.
  • LaDa'at Focus Broken Brotherhood: The Relationship Between the Bnei Israel Community and the Baghdad Jews in Mumbai with your tour educator.
  • Visit the Gate of Mercy Synagogue, also called the Juni Masji or Shaar Ha Rahamim.
  • Return to the hotel.
  • Dinner on own.
  • Witness another aspect of Indian culture as you view a Bollywood movie.

Overnight:  Mumbai

Day Fourteen: Tuesday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • LaDa'at Focus Notable Jews of Mumbai with your tour educator.
  • Board a motor launch to reach the magnificent Cave Temples at Elephanta, an island situated off the coast of Mumbai.
  • Lunch at the hotel.
  • Free afternoon to relax, shop or explore the area.
  • 6:00 p.m. Late check-out from the hotel.
  • Farewell dinner and group reflection conversation.
  • Transfer on own to the Mumbai International Airport. (Transfers can be arranged at additional cost.)
  • Departure flight to the U.S.A.

  • Arrive in the USA.


Need to Know

  • Tour rates are per person based on double occupancy and a minimum of 15 full paying participants. 
  • Tour prices are per person in U.S. dollars. All hotel accommodations, motor coach transportation, special dinners, sightseeing, admissions, luggage handling and the services of local guides, drivers and the tour educator are included.  
  • Hotels are subject to confirmation. If the hotels listed cannot be confirmed, we will use other hotels on the same level.
  • Hotel Accommodations: The tour price includes all hotel accommodations, in hotel rooms with private baths. Our standard is to provide the best available hotels while considering value. Although the level of the accommodations may differ slightly from hotel to hotel, we are committed to your comfort. Two-bed rooms are reserved in most hotels. Triples are two-bed rooms with a rollaway cot where available and are not recommended when considering the comfort of those in the room. King-size beds are not available in most hotels; what is considered king-size usually consists of two single beds pushed together and made up separately, but with one headboard. Some two-bed rooms may have two twin (not full- or queen-size) beds.
  • Meals are included as specified in the itinerary.
  • Tour Educator: All trips are conducted by our tour educators or local guides who remain with the group throughout the tour.
  • Gratuities included for restaurant and hotel staff only (for guides and drivers, see below).
  • Baggage: All tour packages / group tours allow one piece of luggage per person and one carry-on bag. Excess luggage will be subject to a charge of up to $100 per piece. The Travel Agent and/or Tour Operator, shall not be held responsible for any damage to or loss of luggage/personal items. All damage/loss must be reported at time of the incident and documented in writing by local authorities for submission to the insurance company. With regard to airline baggage allowance, different carriers have different regulations for business and coach. Please check with your individual carrier with regard to permitted number of pieces, weights and dimensions. The tour operator is not responsible for fees levied by any air carrier for the transport of personal belongings of any kind.

Not Included

  • Airfare to the tour departure point and from the tour ending point is not included. Airfare may be purchased from us for travel originating in the United States. 
  • Supplemental cost for Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony (to be advised upon request).                 
  • Personal Expenses: All personal expenses such as laundry, valet service, cables, telephone calls, Wi-Fi usage and postage are not included.
  • Guide and Driver Gratuities (recommended guidelines vary based on number of participants):
      • For a group of 15-19 passengers:
        $10 per participant per day for the Da'at tour educator, $5 per participant per day for the local guide & $3 per participant per day for the driver  
      • For a group of 20 passengers and more:
        $8 per participant per day for the Da'at tour educator, $5 per participant per day for the local guide & $3 per participant per day for the driver

    Additional Information

    • Airline Security Measures: In the U.S., you must provide identification in the form of a passport at the time of airport check-in for travel to international destinations. Your passport name must match the name on your tour reservation and airline ticket or you may be denied boarding.
    • If you are traveling from an airport outside the jurisdiction of the U.S., you will need to determine what travel documentation and identification is required for that particular airport.
    • Due to heightened security regulations, certain items such as a metal nail file, pocketknife, cigarette lighter or tweezers, and some liquid, gel, or aerosol items may not be permitted in your carry-on luggage. Please call your airline prior to departure to obtain current information on non-permissible carry-on items and recommended airport check-in times. You may also wish to visit the Transportation Security Administration website at www.tsa.gov to obtain more information on acceptable identity documentation and prohibited luggage items.
    • Holidays and Museum Closures: Museum visits and personal shopping time may be disrupted due to unforeseen circumstances or the many religious, state and local holidays locally observed in the destinations being visited.
    • Photography During Tours: We will occasionally use photographs taken by fellow guests or your trip director for promotional purposes. If you prefer that your photo not be used in any marketing activities, please notify us at the start of your tour.
